One of the primary goals of the FVVC is to sustain the Veterans Emergency Fund to provide a temporary financial bridge for veterans and military families in the Fox Valley in times of hardship. When short-term help is not provided for veterans needing a "hand up", the results for some include homelessness, broken families and divorce, substance abuse and addictions, and in extreme situations, death at their own hands. The Veterans Emergency Fund provides funding for housing, utility payments, clothing, food, transportation or any other high priority need. It’s the bridge to successful reintegration, self-sufficiency and self-dignity. The Veterans Emergency Fund can save lives and families.
The Veterans Emergency Fund serves veterans and their immediate family (spouse, un-remarried surviving spouse, child, or stepchild) who are in need of emergency financial assistance in Outagamie County, Northern Winnebago County, and Calumet County in Wisconsin. Proper documentation must be provided, including a copy of a DD form 214 showing honorable service, and copies of bills for consideration. Assistance is paid directly to creditors.100% of donations to the Veterans Emergency Fund go directly to our local veterans. The FVVC has a Veterans Emergency Fund Committee that works with the County Veterans Service Offices to determine eligibility of applicants for financial assistance.
